Section Leader - Drums


Job Overview:
The Section Leaders serve as both skilled musicians and spiritual leaders within the worship ministry,
overseeing a specific band section of the drums. This role carries
responsibility for musical excellence, team development, and helping cultivate a unified, Christ-
centered worship environment that serves a growing local and global congregation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Provides leadership, direction, and pastoral care to a designated instrument section, fostering unity, accountability, and growth.
  • Participates in weekly  worship services, rehearsals, and special ministry events, modeling excellence and consistency.
  •  Ensure all section members are musically prepared, spiritually aligned, and equipped to execute services with excellence.
  • Supports recruitment, audition, training, and mentor percussion volunteers and staff musicians. 
  • Assists in rehearsals by helping refine arrangements, dynamics, transitions, and overall band cohesion.
  • Collaborates closely with worship leaders, music directors, and production teams to support the overall vision and flow of each service.
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with section members regarding schedules, expectations, and updates.
  • Participates in local and international travel as required for ministry events, conferences, and outreaches.
  • Attends and actively engages in quarterly leadership development and pastoral care training.
  • Arrives fully prepared and on time for all rehearsals, services, production calls, and recording sessions for New Wine.
  • Supports recording projects by executing parts with excellence and professionalism in studio environments.
  • Provides and manages a wWeekly and monthly maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • Oversee and support post-production audio responsibilities including stream mix preparation, vocal tuning for worship services and New Wine album projects, drum editing, and audio mixing for ministry media content, announcements, and special productions. 

Professional Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in designated instruments with consistent live performance experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred or required based on ministry needs).
  •  Proven ability to lead teams with humility, clarity, and strong interpersonal skills.
  •  Demonstrates spiritual maturity, integrity, and alignment with the ministry’s vision and values.
  •  Teachable, dependable, and committed to continual growth both musically and spiritually.
  •  Ability to adapt in dynamic, high-capacity ministry environments.

Education and Experience  
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of worship experience in worship ministry and/or Chrisitan education with demonstrated leadership, discipleship and team development. 
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating musicians, volunteers, or worship teams.

Spiritual Qualifications
  • Commitment to and agreement with KJM’s vision, values and spiritual beliefs. 
  • Have a call of God on their life to ministry as recognized by KJM.
  • Considered a spiritual leader at KJM.
  • Have the ability to clearly communicate KJM spiritual beliefs and mission to the congregation.
  • Maintain a lifestyle consistent with the Scriptures.
  • Must operate in the five-fold ministry gifts listed in Ephesians 4:11
  • Must meet other spiritual qualifications for Ephesians as determined by the Church from time to time and as guided by Scripture.
